“Ummm, Mrs. Stevens? Ummmm, could you make me a cake for my birthday party?” “What would you like on it?” “My face”, she said matter-of-factly. It may have been a seemingly odd request, had it not come from a little girl about to turn 7! lol. For some reason, Kids love to see themselves on their birthday cakes… and they love to eat themselves, too!
Chocolate cake with a creamy blackberry filling and vanilla buttercream. The face was all made out of fondant. Faces are very hard to replicate in any art form, but especially in this medium! So, it looked like a much older version of Sarah… like maybe when she turns 35! lol. Still, she was pleased with it and had fun eating her face off! In fact, all of the kids wanted to try some of her “spaghetti” hair!
