Halloween “RIP” Cake

For someone who has a birthday towards the end of October (or maybe even in early November), it’s probably not too uncommon for a Halloween themed birthday party. There is one little girl I knew who always had a Halloween themed birthday party. When she turned 7, I made this “RIP” cake for her party. I made the bottom tier of the cake orange, yellow, and white rings so that when it was cut, each person would get a ‘candy corn’ piece of cake. The top tier was chocolate and the tombstone was made from two sugar cookies. The top surfaces were covered in ‘grass’ and candy jack-o-lanterns were scattered in it. A Happy Birthday wish was written on three Peeps ghosts that were flying above the grave. Also flying by the grave was a gummy bat! A plastic skeleton and a couple of spiders finished off the look. It was definitely a fun cake to make and I think I fell in love with the ‘grass’ tip that day! lol.
